Frying High

CONGRATULATIONS must go to the Great British Eatery (GBE) in Broadway Plaza, which was awarded five stars from the Seafish Authority.
It was the sole (!) chippy in the Midlands to achieve this accolade, and one of only 12 in the UK.
This week's gong recognises that GBE uses the finest fish from sustainable sources.
I've been a fan of this chippy since I first visited six months ago - and not just because of its close proximity to where I live.
The food they serve is remarkably tasty, always freshly cooked and fairly priced.
And because GBE is now frying high, they are offering customers a free Freedom organic beer (yes, they serve beer with their takeaways - how civilised!) or Callstick Cornish ice cream with every cod or haddock meal purchased after 5pm tonight only (Thursday, February 5)!
In order to take advantage of this offer customers must say on ordering: 'I'm a friend of GBE, congratulations - give me what's free!'
So if you've yet to try GBE, then what better time than tonight, where you'll get an even better deal than you bargained for!
However, if you miss this offer, GBE is offering daily credit crunch busting menu so you can enjoy a full tummy, even when the chips are down!
